Description

Like many European countries post WW2, Belgium adopted copies of British style clothing & gear. These jackets are just like the British WW2 battle dress (and similar to the American 'Ike' jacket). The trousers they were designed to be paired with finish very high up on the waist. The original design was for use in the field and parade. Most of these are made around the 1960-70s and most likely were used more for dress as the Belgian Army had adopted the jigsaw field uniform in the 1950s.

High style and high waistline for a military 'field jacket.' The front of the jacket buttons up and the waist can be secured or loosened off with dual buttons. Two chest pockets adorn the front along with a smart looking collar. Shoulder epaulettes flank each shoulder. For those who love vintage fashion or collect Belgian surplus, you can't go past these well made field jackets!

Features:

  • Genuine Belgian Army surplus
  • High 'waistline'
  • Majority wool construction
  • 2 x Buttoned chest pockets
  • Button up front and waist tab
  • Shoulder epaulettes
  • Buttoned cuffs

perfect for winter

i live in central Queensland and it gets about 5 Celsius here in winter, so i ordered this in autumn with the Czech ushanka and they are both great products at great prices. The only issue is that it is SUPER formal wearing this to the pub is like going to Maccas in a 3 piece suit, but everything aside worth the 40 bucks in my opinion.

Stylish

I always get compliments on the classy vintage look. Very flattering shape. I love it dressed up or down. It's the go over a jumper in the winter cold, as it's not super thick itself but a good windbreaker, just so long as you have high waisted pants you'll be laughing at the price.
