These gas mask bags are produced by the French and serve in both their military and the Polish (the same Polish gas mask is referred to as a MP5 instead of ARF-A). This ARF-A gas mask bag has a rubberised canvas construction and two side pouches. Straps and clips on the rear allow the bag to be attached to load carrying gear or slung over your shoulder. *Straps are not original.
The bag's side pouches are used to hold the ARF-A (MP-5) compatible water bottle and drinking tube while the main compartment stores the mask and filter. Small pockets on the interior are intended to carry anti-nerve agents and spare components. If you've got your hands on an ARF-A Gas Mask, you should pick up this original transport bag. Alternatively, re-purpose it as a messenger bag or panniers for your bike.

Purchased 2 of thes bags to fashion as saddle bags and 2 others as misc bags. Construction is top notch and even after thier years of service are still waterproof. Great for carrying tools/spares and a extra layer for winter trail rides. Very likely will be purchasing more.
The price is very good, but they are used with writing and bird poop stains? on the outside, not surplus. The writing came off with rubbing alcohol. The bird stains are on the canvas portion on the bottom and look permanent.
I wish they made this more clear in the item title.
Bought four of these on sale to use as storage for my gas mask collection and now use them as panniers for my bicycle. Thanks to them being waterproof I've made it through torrential rain just fine and there is enough space to fit all my EDC including my wet weather gear, spare clothes and tools. With a spare bag strap I can easily convert it to a shoulder bag when it isn't on my bike. Overall it's made my cycling experience much more enjoyable and if they somehow managed to break (Construction is top notch) then I wouldn't hesitate to get more.
