Description

A well designed day pack with typical rugged military construction. The Dutch have outdone themselves with this one, making a pack which is simple and practical with a long life-span. These 35 litre packs have withstood a bashing from the troops and are ready for whatever you have to throw at them. An ideal size for day hikes, hunting trips or daily commutes.

The bag is separated into a main compartment, two side pockets and top pocket. Internally, there are three compartments and a pocket against the back for a foam insert. The pack comfortably allows over-stuffing with the height of the lid being adjustable using two quick release buckles. ALICE compatible straps are located on the lid, front and bottom of the pack for attaching additional equipment.

Don't let the title of a "Day Pack" fool you into thinking this isn't made for heavy loads. The tough nylon construction, padded shoulder straps and sternum strap allow you to comfortably cram this pack full of your favourite heavy objects. It has also been coated on the interior which - after all these years - should still provide some level of water resistance. A robust pack ready for you to modify, load up and drag through the mud.

I’ve put this bag through hell and it keeps taking more. Kind of small but keeps your items super organised

    great pack

I cut the dividers out of this and can now use it as a good one or two night bag with sleeping kit, hoochie etc. if you're into lightweight hiking this will do you, it sits very high on the back as it was designed to sit above webbing, pouches etc. But I really like the compact toughness of it. As a bushcraft pack it's brilliant. You can stick Dutch pouches with Alice all over it or canteen pouches etc. And there's space behind the side pouches for axe, saw, hiking poles etc. And it pretty well matches British DPM. I own larger packs - Bergaus Vulcan, NI Patrol Pack - but as i get older I'm coming back to these more compact packs, along with the old Vietnam era 'Nam' pack. Just easier to organise your stuff in these smaller bags and easier on the knees! You just carry less rubbish.

    Hardwearing, fair price and handy

This is a worthwhile purchase for anyone keen on going for short trips in the bush and it has great, deep pockets to support you on our journey. There's also the MOLLE mounts which you can use to hang some of the pouches you may see on this site off, meaning you can bring more items in accessible pouches. Mine came a bit faded but structurally sound and it fits well with the British kit if you've been buying up some new outdoors gear as I have. The Dutch pistol belt is a good pairing as anything you can fit the British water bottle and pouch (though make sure you get the older DPM ones as they use the ALICE loops which the belt takes) on it among other things. I wished I'd seen this before I bought a day pack from Osprey a couple years ago as I paid a lot more for that and I find this does the same job and is built tougher. Well worth the dosh.
