The US Army came up with a unique design during World War 2 - a splice of beanie and cap! Originally designed to be worn under a helmet for padding and warmth, many troops including jeep drivers would wear these standalone. Produced from 1942 continuously to the present proves their popularity with the troops and public. Made in the USA from 100% wool they have a loose weave to provide plenty of stretch - one size fits most!

I added this item to my last order as a bit of a giggle seeking to channel my inner CPL Radar O'Reilly (Millennials please google M*A*S*H). Lo and behold, it's a really cosy piece of headwear and very warm (quite snug but should stretch).
Has all the relevant USGI and NSN tags and 100% wool (with moth proofing) - so the genuine article; just wonder if it came of the Raiders of the Lost Ark warehouse...
Anyway must go - my Grape Nehi is getting warm...
