Description

In the 1970's, the French Army designed and issued the F1 olive combat uniform & all its web-gear components. These webbing harnesses were used right through well into the first Gulf War period.

These suspenders are incredibly simple (in-fact, possibly too simple!). The front straps have metal clips that hook onto D-rings that would be found on the top of F1 pouches and the rear straps loop back on themselves with hook & loop. Meaning the rear straps can loop over practically any belt. The down side is this didn't make for a particularly stable webbing system - the price you pay for such a simplistic design! One nice thing is they didn't skimp on materials with a durable cotton canvas build. All for a very low price, the back might end up hurting but the wallet certainly doesn't!

Features:

  • Genuine French Army surplus
  • 'H-harness' format
  • Fully adjustable hook & loop rear straps
  • Canvas construction
  • D-ring attachment points on shoulders
  • Front straps with metal clips for attaching to belts/front pouches

Simplicity is their virtue & great value

Will appeal to those who like a simple light weight 4 point H harness. Works well with a padded MOLLE belt with 4 D-ring attachment points. A reasonable substitute for the well regarded US M1956 4 point harness if you stick to light loads. With 4 x 1L canteens you can feel the lack of shoulder padding compared to the very comfortable M1956. Has plenty of adjustment for a range of heights (a fault of the M1956 which comes in 3 versions; regular for those up to 68" high, long up to 73", and extra long for 74+"). If you simplicity its a bargain.
