Description
A custom made Tais scarf produced during the first New Zealand deployment in East Timor. The scarf features intricate multicolour woven stripe patterns with geometric woven motifs, braided accent bands, and tasseled fringe ends. Bright pink, yellow, orange, blue, and maroon tones are woven throughout the fabric in a traditional East Timorese style.
Brought back by a soldier in 1999. Says "New Zealand Peacekeeping Force In East Timor" along with a Tetum translation.
