Description
Better known as the 'M41' jacket, these are what were issued to the US military during World War 2. Designed to be short in length and somewhat 'loose fitting' for improved movement compared to previous garments. Despite this, they came up short when the weather was foulest and were to be replaced by the M43 jacket. This never fully happened due to officer infighting and the M41 would go on to serve through to the end of the war.
These reproductions have done a pretty good job representing the original. The main difference is the wool content - these have 20% wool. Although they sacrifice a small bit of thermal value, the combination of polyester makes these much more comfortable and soft to the touch yet don't look out of place. The jacket has a button up front as well as a zipper beneath this buttoned flap. The coziest part is the pockets around the stomach/chest area - these have the same 'wool' flannel lining to keep your hands warm.
An essential bit of clothing for anyone doing a WW2 USGI impression whether it be for reenactments, airsoft players or period film productions.
