Emergency Shelter

Just arrived today. As usual fast efficient service and as I have often found I think A&O have undersold themselves as this one is like new. Wanted an emergency tarp/rain cover and this fits the bill nicely. Im 6'2"+ and plenty of coverage both as a coat and a tarp. Strongly built with a storage pouch attached. Hope they get some more liners in as that would give me even more choices. Cheers

Amazing Customer Service and Great Piece of kit

Whilst I was accidentally sent a liner instead of the poncho, customer service were extremely responsive and considerate only further cementing my love for this store. The poncho itself is DPM so it's fantastic and stylish as always and I have been using it as an emergency poncho for commuting. It's very long so it doesn't work too well if I'm riding my bike but with the amount of coverage it provides I know I'll be toastie and most importantly dry underneath it if I'm unfortunate to be caught in a downpour. Whilst it is much larger and heavier than many ponchos out there this thing is extremely solid which is to be expected for something that is designed to serve as shelter and unlike other ponchos I've owned I can trust this one isn't going to fail on me anytime soon. All in all, I'm extremely thankful towards Army and Outdoors staff and I hope to continue to purchase more quality surplus items in the future!!!

Degraded PU Coating

Unfortunately the PU coating was completely degraded. The coating was coming off in pieces. Disappointing to purchase something only for it to turn out to be rubbish at this point.

Versatile Poncho

I brought a cheap poncho/tarp knock off to see how they go, and was impressed, but its not even close to the quality of this one and wasnt much cheaper either.

This should last me years of use bush crafting, both getting me to the campsite while staying dry and acting as my shelter.
made from good quality waterproof material, and the tie off points are well reinforced eyelets, will definitely be taking this with me along with the poncho liner, they both complement each other very well and can be used as a sleeping system by their own

Dutch Army Poncho

Ive been eyeing these up for a while, now glad I picked up one up. The wet weather/wind Poncho is an excellent design, quite light compared to what I thought it would weigh, packs down easily into a small size. The design of the hood is spot on, large but adjustable, and there is a discreet attached stuff sack and internal waist cord which are great features. Like some PU coated gear there is no delamination! Very versatile and useful.... Going to order a couple more for car boot and friends. Surplus gear is usually better then cheap'o high street stuff and this is no exception... Thanks Army and Outdoors!
